چکیده:
this research was conducted to investigate the relationship between EFL student critical thinking and their reading comprehension success the objective was to find out whether critical thinking ability has any significant relationshipwith reading comprehension or not to carry out the study first of all 60 high intermediate students were randomly selected from theree english institutes in tehran next in order to test students critical thinking ability the watson glazer critical thinking questionnaire was given them besides a TOEFL reading test was also provided to evaluate students performances in reading comprehension the results of the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between EFL students critical thinking and theri reading comprehension this result may help teachers and material developers to take into account the beneficial characteristics of critical thinking when dealing with reading courses and it also has some implications for teacher training courses
